ABSTRACT

The amoebiasis or amebiasis, is a disease caused by a protozoan called, amoeba Entamoeba histolytica, being one of the main health problems in developing countries. The E.hystolytica resides in the colon but is capable of causing diseases such as dysentery, colitis and hepatic abscess. In some individuals the infection turns out devastating, showing clinical conditions that are a challenge for the physician. This clinical case is a male, manifesting dysentery and pancolitis, secondary to infection by E.hystolyca, 30 days evolution responding to medical treatment.
