ABSTRACT

Gossypiboma, also known as textiloma or gasoma is a term used to describe a mass inside the organism generated by surgical material left forgotten and a tissue reaction to a strange body. 1 the abdominal cavity is the location in which they are most frequently found (56%). Here is a case of a female patient with a clinical condition of abdominal pain and previous recent surgical intervention in which is confirmed the presence of gossypiboma.
