ABSTRACT

Malocclusion is the result of several factors that may be present in the mixed dentition; however, they should be prevented or intercepted, with orthopedic appliances such as Ocluss-O-Guide or Bionator. In order to evaluate the Ocluss-O-Guide with the Bionator 14 patients between 6 and 12 years with increased overbite and overjet were treated in two groups. The results showed that the Ocluss-O-Guide was more successful during treatment than the group treated with Bionator, however the results were least when compared with other studies. It can be considered that Ocluss-O-Guide as an another alternative for the prevention and interception of malocclusion during the mixed dentition.
