ABSTRACT

The Hybrid Layer is the result of the diffusion and impregnation of monomers into the subsurface of pretreated dentin substrates. The development of adhesive systems that infiltrate the demineralized dentin surface by resin monomers and combine with the collagen to form a layer that is a mix of tooth and resin, is a paradigm in restorative dentistry that may seal the dentin-restorative material interfase, preventing the presence of hypersensitivity and recurrent caries.
