ABSTRACT

An investigation was carried out with the objective to apply a discriminante function of prognosis for patients with spontaneous intracerebral hemorrhage, the following was obtained from the morphometric analysis of tomographic images, with the use of MADIP program and the later application of the discriminante analysis. The function was applied in 25 new patients, who were not studied. Male sex predominated and ages from 61 to 75 years, the arterial hypertension constituted the predominant pathological antecedent in 84% of patients, only four for a 16% received some surgical procedure and the result of discriminate function of prognosis corresponded with its evolution in 96% of the cases. It was concluded that the new prognosis method proposed by patients with spontaneous intracerebral hemorrhage can consider it in medical practice like a new tool at the time of establishing the patient prognosis.
