ABSTRACT

Introduction: The complexity and peculiarity of the surgery cardiovascular with employment of off pump in the baby, does that the care of nurse in the unit post surgery be a fundamental pillar for the recuperation of these patient, for which should be done keeping in mind protocol established for its execution.
Objective: To design the proposal of protocol of immediate cares of nurse for the baby submitted to surgery open of heart.
Method: An investigation of development was carried out, qualitative, in the therapy Intensive post surgery of the Center Cardio pediatric "William Soler", during the year 2010. Interview was performed to experts.
Results: In the studied workers the level of global high cardiovascular risk was of 13,4%, (men 24,8% (men 23,6% and women The cares of nurse in the management of these patient are not homogeneous, for which private cares for the administration were suggested of medicament and fluids parenteral, digestive and air management of way, the surgery procedures and injured, them related to the confort and the hygiene as well as the to drive before diverse clinical situations of emergency or routine, according to international standards.
Conclusions: The need to elaborate was shown the protocol in order to reducing the margin of improvisation, regular the conduct of the personnel of nurse and to contribute thus to reach better results post surgery cardiovascular pediatric.
