ABSTRACT

This study presents a case of a male patient being 69 years old and with an eight-month evolution and post-prandial plenitude, hyporexia and an unquantified weight loss. The patient is studied (paraclinical and imaging studies) documenting the presence of an intermittent gastric volvulus, also known as chronic volvulus. The patient is subjected to a surgery; the gastropexia is performed through laparoscopy towards the anterior abdominal muscle. The patient begins an liquid diet 12 hours after the surgery during the postoperative period and he is discharged from the hospital 24 hours after the operation. The patient expresses that he feels the absence of symptoms and he has been kept out of symptomatology one year after the surgery.
