ABSTRACTHandwashing with soap is one of the most effective and economical ways to prevent infectious diseases, nosocomial and improve patient safety. The prevalence of morbidity from gastroenteritis and respiratory infections in children are the main cause of action in the outpatient and inpatient; these can be prevented by simply washing hands with soap and water. Also Sergei Kolesnikov, epidemics reported significantly decreased after the appearance of soap. In May 2007, the World Health Organization published “Nine solutions for patient safety,” in order to reduce the harm associated with healthcare, affecting millions of patients worldwide. Among the “Nine solutions for patient safety” was raised as the ninth solution: Improving hand hygiene to prevent infections associated in health care. Furthermore, the World Health Organization cal ass, that if doctors and nurses to wash their hands regularly throughout their work day low, would be avoided worldwide, 1.4 million cases of hospital-acquired infections and other healthcare per day. We need to continue urging the population and health personnel, to know the art of hand washing, because this joint work could prevent many diseases, infections and save lives.
