ABSTRACTThe decline and/or absence of appetite is also called anorexia. Often people come to the pharmacy looking for weight loss supplements. Just as there are people seeking to lose weight, we have the opposite side, those who seek to gain weight. The exact reason of appetite loss is often unknown, but it may be due to depression, anxiety or symptoms of illness; it commonly occurs in adults, and once disease has been ruled out, dietary supplements can be used. We must know that most dietary supplements are based on an action called antiserotonin, because serotonin is a mediator between the brain centers regulating appetite. It is important to say that many supplements have drugs, and others, vitamins and minerals. Most require prescriptions.
