ABSTRACT

Objective: Knowing the answer to the treatment with sildenafil of infants with pulmonary hypertension in children.
Material and methods: 88 neonates response with pulmonary hypertension who were treated with sildenafil at 0.5 to 3 mg/kg/dose was studied.
Results: Independent of the severity of the pulmonary hypertension, the doses of sildenafil used was 1 mg/kg dose every six hours.
Conclusions: The findings showed that sildenafil is effective in the management of pulmonary hypertension in infants, both in the short, medium or long term and well tolerated, although not established optimal dose in this disease.
