Update on acute mechanical low back pain

ABSTRACT

Introduction: the lumbalgia is a syndrome that is defined for the pain presence in the vertebral region or lumbar paravertebral, generally accompanied by spasm that commits the structures osteomusculares and ligamentarias of the rachis and it's a multiple etiology. From the clinical point of view, it understands from the inferior border of the costal grill until the inferior region of the lap. To carry out the diagnosis of the acute mechanical lumbalgias, it is necessary to keep in mind the clinical history, as well as an exhaustive physical exam that should be carried out with the patient lacking clothes, the painful area should be felt to look for stiff muscle or very selective painful points and an estimate affects to the grade of the mobility. Objective: to upgrade the existent knowledge on acute mechanical lumbalgias. Methods: it was carried out an exploratory study of the published literature and it was organized the existent knowledge about the acute mechanical lumbalgias and the entities that are more frequently caused, their etiology, the clinical signs that help to recognize it, as well as the rules for the rehabilitative treatment. Conclusions: the prevention of the lumbar pain is the fundamental pillar in the treatment of the acute mechanical lumbalgias.
