ABSTRACT

Cicatricial alopecia is a multifactorial dermatosis in which collagen vascular diseases (such as cutaneous lupus), play an important role. The exact physiopathological mechanisms are not known yet; however the inflammatory component means a significant factor that leads to destruction of the hair follicle and permanent hair loss. Treatments are varied, but none offers significant benefits. In this article we report the case of a 60 years old female patient with cicatricial alopecia secondary to cutaneous lupus and we made a brief review of the literature.
