ABSTRACT

Swimming pool granuloma is a granulomatous chronic skin disease caused by Mycobacterium marinum, an atypical slow growth Mycobacterium found in salt and fresh water. It is characterized clinically by an inflammatory verrucous or crusted lesion at the inoculation site, and in some cases lymphangitic spread. The authors present a male patient with diagnosis of swimming pool granuloma with lymphangitic spread and a review of the literature.
