ABSTRACT

Thromboelastography is a method of testing the efficiency of coagulation in the blood. Thromboelastography provides an effective and convenient means of monitoring whole blood coagulation. Fibrinolysys in thromboelastographic state resembles a blowfish and a glass of champagne in disseminated intravascular coagulation. The aim of this paper it is to provide the fundamentals of thromboelastography in the Intensive Care Unit and recommend a simple mnemonic rule.
