ABSTRACT

Revascularization is a regenerative treatment that takes an alternative biological approach to treating immature teeth with necrotic pulp caused by caries or trauma. In contrast to apexification and techniques based on the use of artificial apical barriers, it allows root development to continue. The purpose of this article is to review the biological basis behind revascularization and the different protocols described in the literature for the treatment of infected immature permanent teeth with or without periapical pathology.
