ABSTRACT

Introduction: The software "ICCCVMed" is used at the Institute of Cardiology and Cardiovascular Surgery (ICCCV) to record all the patient's data in Case Histories (HC). However, in the Department of Anesthesiology patient information is still recorded in classical HC. The major drawbacks of this classical method are repetition of information, poor manageability and possible data loss.
Objective: To design a module for the "ICCCVMed" software that could negotiate, centralize and guarantee the information recorded in the Department of Anesthesiology of the ICCCV.
Methods: We used a relational model and the new module was programmed using the object-oriented Pascal language.
Results: A new module of the system "ICCCVMed" was developed. Only the authorized medical staff has access to this module.
Conclusions: The system "ICCCVMed" is an efficacious tool to record all patient data from the Department of Anesthesi-ology allowing the management, centralization and security of all information.
