Repercussion of change program of medical computer science in the Medical Sciences Faculty

ABSTRACT

Introduction: the Medical Computer subject provides to the future health professional, tools allowing them to apply the information and communication technologies and at the same time offers scientific methods to develop its teaching, welfare works and research.
Objective: to analyze the current program of the above mentioned subject relating to its content and to describe the level of pupils´ performance according to the formation acquired throughout the results of evaluation obtained in two academic courses.
Material and Methods: a qualitative descriptive and exploratory study was realized on the 1st academy year population registered in the career of Medicine attending courses 2010-2011 and 2011- 2012. There were used the documentary analysis and the skill of the Positive / negative / interesting one for the securing of the information, applying the method phenomenological and they were categorized by means of the content analysis.
Results: it is pointed out that the current program adapts itself to the economic conditions of the country. The application of the P.N.I. showed that the education process was good, since the negative aspects were not attributable to this process. The results of the evaluations of two analyzed courses were satisfactory.
Conclusions: assessment throughout test applied P.N.I., could confirm that our pupils have accepted the challenge that supposes the migration to the Free Software despite the negative aspects, because these did not depend of our institution. The evaluations results did, corroborate it.
