ABSTRACT

The work was aimed at checking the antimicrobial action of extracts made from the cylindrica L. plant, obtaining tinctures to 20 %, the hexanic, cloroformic, aqueus, ethyl acetate and the corresponding dry extracts of stems, leaves and green fruits. In microbiological in vitro assays tinctures to 20% of leaves and stems and extracts in different solvents presented antimicrobial action against strains of reference and wild Staphilococcus aureus and Escherichia coli and wild strain of Candida sp. As well as the extracts obtained from the fruit. The effectiveness of the extracts was assessed by comparison with models currently used by the health system.
