ABSTRACT

Pheocromocytoma is a rare catecholamine producing tumor, that can cause severe hypertension and highly variable of other systemic disturbances. This patients most commonly present: headaches, sweating and palpitations; due to the excess of catecholamines in circulation. Most pheocromocytomas are sporadic, but may be associated with other endocrine and familial disorders. The physician should be aware of the clinical manifestations and complications of these tumor; so he can be able to provide proper preoperative managment. This article seeks to highlight current approaches to comprehensive preoperative managment of this condition.
