ABSTRACT

In this article we present a 66 year old male patient with inflammatory bowel disease who developed a thromboembolic event. We explain how the development of thromboembolic events in patients with inflammatory bowel disease is common and almost always occurs in this type of patients in a active phase of the disease; In addition to the importance of knowing this possible pathology it is explain its physiopathology, diagnosis and treatment.
