ABSTRACT

Pericarditis is rare manisfestation of tuberculosis and can be fatal. We describe a 57- year-old female with no known history of cardiac disease admitted for a large pericardial effusion. There was neither previous exposure to tuberculosis nor any suggestion of immunosuppression. Repeated analysis of pericardial fluid established a tuberculous origin.
