ABSTRACT

Small bowel obstruction is a clinical syndrome that surgeon faces in emergency rooms and diagnosis can be difficult without radiologic support. The most common cause of obstruction are adhesions. If obstruction is complete or partial, so be what kind of radiologic study will be used to determent the treatment: conservative management or surgery. Now days, there is need for more involment by radiologists in emergency rooms because they can exert considerable influence in the diagnostic investigation, management, and avoid complications of small bowel obstruction.
