ABSTRACT

The cerebral teratoma is not a very frequent pathology (0,5%). Its incidence increases up to 2% in children who are under 15 years old, with the most frequent location in the pineal region. Other locations include the midline and the suprasellar region, the pituitary cavity and the forth ventricle. These tumors undergo an operation for trying their complete removal and avoiding their recidiva. A case of benign cerebral teratoma is presented in a female patient aged 22, assisted at Simón Bolívar Clinic of Mariara, Carabobo State, Venezuela.
