ABSTRACT

A scheme of nutritional assessment is used in 9 patients with end-stage chronic renal failure at the beginning of dialysis treatment. Dietetic, anthropometric, biochemical and immunological aspects are considered and to certain degree protein-calorie malnutrition is evident in the 9 patients. In what manner the nutritional status of a patient mediates in his further evolution is outlined.
