ABSTRACT
A dramatic epidemic of Dengue Hemorrhagic Fever in 1981 was faced by the “Dr. Gustavo Aldereguía Lima” Hospital, only two years after its opening. Medical care remembering facts and learned lessons during this remarkable episode are exposed in this article, which has been one of the most important victories fulfilled by the hospital in the way to be symbol of the health, the life and the happiness of Cienfuegos citizens.
