ABSTRACT

The use of Microsoft Excel® to create an automated application that can integrate and control all the statistical information generated in the Pinar del Río Provincial Medical Genetics Center. The performance of this application is based on the interrelation of several spreadsheets that identify each one of the genetic application programs by municipality, as well as different work diaries for each month of the year, accessible through a central interface. Access passwords are used for security, and all spreadsheets are protected while those cells that should not be completed are blocked, all of which increases system safety. All operations whose execution has been eased demonstrate the usefulness of computation tools when there is a work team prepared to use them.
