The intracraneal hypotension síndrome (IHS) is characterized by postural headache and decrease of the cerebrospinal fluid pressure. We present seis patients with HIS; all of them were studied with Magnetic Resonance (MR). We reviewed the clinical histories and the MR imaging findings in all cases and we followed them after the treatment.
We reviewed the MR, computed tomography and cisternography imaging findings in cases of this disease that have been described, as well as the clinical spectrum and the MR imaging findings in this condition. All the patients in this series demonstrate dural enhancement, in one patient was evident cerebellar tonsilar ectopia. This clinical condition is related with sudden onset, post surgical dural procedures and traumatic injuries, the differential diagnosis must include, meningitis, meningeal carcinomatosis, neurosarcoidosis, neurotuberculosis.
