ABSTRACT
Objective. To study the frequency of histopathologic diagnosis malignant neoplasia done by and excisional ganglionar biopsy.
Material and methods. Fifty nine hospital files of children from two hospitals were review. All of them with to peripheral lymphadenopathies and excisional biopsy.
Results. Localized limphadenopathy was found in 44 (75%) children, it was limited in 9 (15%) and generalized in 6 (10%). The ethiological diagnosis reported by histopathology was as follow: infectious 8 (14%), reactivate follicular hyperplasia. Thirty one (52%) and malignant neoplasia in 20 (34%): 13 of them had Hodgkin’s lymphoma and in 7 it was for non Hodgkin lymphoma.
Conclusion. The most frequent diagnosis was the reactivate follicular hyperplasia (44). The malignant neoplasy in a third of the children of the sample studied.
