ABSTRACT

Introduction: The osteoporosis is considered silent bad one of the big ones that affects the current population, inside the patients that bigger bias presents to suffer this illness the rheumatic patients they are which present multiple factors of risk for the development of the same one. To know the bony mineral density of the same ones is vital to establish the therapeutic behavior in the confrontation of the rheumatic affections.
Objective: To characterize the modifications of the bony mineral density for densitometría in patient rheumatic.
Methodology: I study observational, descriptive, and longitudinal, in patient with diagnostic of rheumatic illnesses that attended the service of external consultation of rheumatology and internal medicine of the center specialized ambulatory Hero of Beach Girón of the university general hospital Dr. Gustavo Aldereguía Lima of Cienfuegos in the period understood between January and May of the 2013. The patients fulfilled the diagnostic approaches for each one of the rheumatic illnesses and to the same ones they were carried out a bony densitometría to define the grade of affectation of their bony mass and a survey with the objective of knowing demographic variable partner of value in this investigation.
Results: 96.92 % of the patients were women, prevailing the white color of the skin ostensibly with 80 % of the entirety. The half age was of 58.68 ± 10.12, being presented in the women to more age. The most frequent affections were the arthritis rheumatoid in 52.3 % followed by the osteoartrosis in 23 %. It was found that most of the patients had osteoporosis at column level; however in the exam of the femur it is more frequent the osteopenia.
Conclusions: The rheumatic patients present an important decrease of the bony mineral density associated to the age, to the menopause age and the treatment asteroidean.
