ABSTRACT

The treatment of surgical diseases of the major salivary glands has been an everyday activity of Maxillofacial Service since its foundation in the 60s to this day. Surgery is the treatment of choice in tumor disease while in lithiasic processes have been other noninvasive techniques that have enriched the therapeutic arsenal. Known clinical and biological behavior of the conditions being treated it is designed a protocol with the diagnostic and therapeutic algorithm indicated in each case to adopt a uniform behavior in the study and treatment of these diseases and to get an effective and definitive cure.
