ABSTRACTGrouping various conditions into syndromes helps their diagnosis and treatment. “Molluscoid syndrome”, thus named after its resemblance to molluscum contagiosum, is characterized by papules and eventually umbilicated nodules. Several pathologies present these characteristics, especially those secondary to immunosuppression and various tropical illnesses.
This review focuses on infectious diseases presenting with these characteristics, including histoplasmosis, cryptococcosis, paracoccidioidomycosis, sporotrichosis, Penicillium marneffei infections, aspergillosis, leishmaniasis, syphilis and tuberculosis.
