ABSTRACT

A descriptive, cross-sectional study of 31 patients with a history of drug addiction, admitted to the Detoxification Center Adolescent Havana (CDA) in the period from May 2006 to May 2007 performed a characterization from the point of view was performed sociodemographic and biological variables by analyzing how substance addictions and behavioral addictions, had fully impact on them. Data were entered in Excel and exported to statistical software package SPSS 11.5 in its version with which information is processed. Absolute and relative frequencies were calculated. Males prevailed; marijuana was the substance began drinking in patients ages 10-19 years. Polydrug excelled as a form of consumption at the time of admission, from a biological point of view we look at the neurological level disturbance, liver, eye and cardiovascular lesser extent.
