ABSTRACT

In these moments, one of the best preventive measures to avoid dental decay are the fissure sealants in conjunction with the topical application of fluoride, oral hygiene and diet analysis. It represents a simple and economic alternative, and are easy to accept from patients. In order to know more about the properties of these materials, it is convenient to have an historical overview which is here presented.
