ABSTRACT

A literature review of several national and international work, published about cannabis or marijuana, with a tour through his discovery and uses throughout the history, meaning, and the imprint it has had on the art is done and received treatment at different stages of the history of medicine. The overall objective of this work is to increase our general knowledge about this drug, considered by some as weak and others as a gateway for the consumption of all other, and through the involvement of these three branches of learning about science the subject. Product is known from the third millennium BC and has been used as a textile fiber, oil, medicine with magical religious connotations different from that stage. In today's world consumption is banned in some countries, issued in Cafes in others, but as a common manifestation, the damage to humans is expressed equally in any latitude. Approval in consumption, perhaps lead us to consider, how we are all guilty of the abyss in which some drug users taking the first step with marijuana sink reach lethal drugs?
