ABSTRACT

A case of a 24 years old pregnant woman is reported with Steinert disease with clinical diagnosis, hematic complementary, electromyography and muscle biopsy, that arrived which comes with approximately 32 weeks pregnancy almost asymptomatic, with myotonia or Steinert phenomenon in both hands and light symptoms of weakness to physical efforts. the 39.3 weeks c-section, was carried out with good result for the mother; the newborn baby was male with 9/9 apgar, 2650 gram weight and without the stigma of having inherited the severe neonatal form of this disease.
