ABSTRACT

Introduction: this paper analyses the students Interlingua in the written ability while they were studying the subjects English I and II.
Objective: to determine the causes that originated the most frequent errors in writing in the students of first year of Dentistry career.
Method: it is a partial result of a cuasi-experimental study performed in Bayamo Medical College during the academic year 2012 – 2013. The sample was the 50% of all the texts written in all evaluations applied during their first year of learning English.
Results: the classification of errors according to the possible causes that originated them and the explanation of the defective strategies used during the teaching-learning process.
Conclusion: translation and misteaching were the causes that affected the most the quality of writing.
