ABSTRACT

The Muir-Torre syndrome (MTS) is a phenotypic variant of hereditary non-polyposis colon cancer, in which the repair system for deoxyribonucleic acid (DNA) is defective. The association of sebaceous tumors, keratoacanthomas and at least one internal neoplasm characterizes the entity.
This paper describes the results of a retrospective study of MTS patients in our hospital, spanning the January 2005-December 2010 period and including demographic, clinical, histopathological and genetic data.
