Cutis pleonasmus, obesity, cutis laxa, “massive” weight loss.

ABSTRACT

Introduced in 2005, the term “cutis pleonasmus” refers to an excess of skin due to “massive” weight loss. The entity is believed to be different from disorders such as congenital and acquired cutis laxa, dermal elastosis and granulomatous cutis laxa.
Contributing to the existing literature on the matter, we describe a case of cutis pleonasmus due to a body mass loss of 54% secondary to a conduct disorder.
