ABSTRACT

Solanum melogena is a plant used mainly as a foodstuff. Different studies have reported its utility as hypolipemiant, anti-inflammatory, anti-tumoral, among other benefits. In experimental researches made in rodents subjected to a diet consisting of 20 % of fat and 30 % of sucrose; absence of hypocholesterolemia activity and a significant hypoglycemic effect was checked.
