ABSTRACT
Rhabdomyosarcoma is the most usual childhood sarcoma,
presenting in 4-7 children per million and affecting the genitourinary
tract in 20% of cases. Three histological varieties have
been described, included embryonal rhabdomyosarcoma, the
most common variant in pediatric patients.
The rhabdomyosarcoma botryoides is the polypoid form
of embryonal rhabdomyosarcoma and is seen almost in 10% of
cases affecting mucosal surfaces of body orifices like vagina and
nose, may also be affected biliary tract.
This is a description of the clinical and histological findings
of a female infant with botryoides rhabdomyosarcoma
