Importance of the medical exploration in the implementation of the tasks of the defence of nation

ABSTRACT

Introduction: the doctors may carry out the position of responsible for health of the zone and to organize the medical secure in the event situations of disasters. In the discipline Preparation for the Defence III, the medical students in the fifth year develop the medical exploration for get readyto the tasks of the defence of the country.
Objective: to demonstrate that the medical exploration carry out bymedical students contributes in their future acting on the tasks of the medical secure in the defence zones.
Material and Methods: it was carried out a descriptive and prospective study, during the course 2012 - 2013, with a sample of 74 students cursing fifth year of medicine that they conformed 15 teams in ICBP "Victoria of Girón." The practical exercise was revised by the final reports of the students and the direct observation byteachers.
Results: it is highlighted that in 86,6% the teams manifested a good level of knowledge during the medical exploration about the main objectives of health. 93, 3% of the groups demonstrated abilities for the identification of the resources needed in the medical secure and in 66,6% determined the elements correctly with adverse influence for the situation of health. All the teams conformed appropriately the hygienic- epidemic squad and they reflected the cooperation with the medical institutions near to their zones.
Conclusions: the medical exploration that the students carried out provided them knowledge and abilities to exercise in the tasks the medical secure in the defences zones to face situations of disasters.
