ABSTRACT

There exists numerous classifications for impacted anterior teeth most oh them are confusing, being different from each other with none of these giving a clear idea of position and relation of impacted canines. A simple classification is suggested exclusively for impacted canines, since this a very common problem in the orthodontic practice and no clear classification for impacted canines exist. The complications that are present in the orthodontic treatment are described and simple preventive measures are suggested to try to prevent impacted canines. The use of posterior anterior cranial röentgendgran is urged in patients that are suspected of having impacted canines.
