ABSTRACT

Ultrasound neurologic navigation is currently being used the Neurosurgery Service of the pediatric neurosurgery wing from Hospital Juárez de México, where the author is neurosurgeon in charge, as a tool for specific cases where a probable benefit is considered. In here, digital scientific databases PubMed and ovid were reviewed using advanced inquiries key words including neuronavegation, neurologic surgical navigation, pediatrics, brain tumors and surgical ultrasound and the resulting descriptions on the subject are listed. Additionally, three cases of resected brain tumors using neurologic surgical navigation assisted by real time ultrasound are described and discussed
