ABSTRACT
The goal of this investigation is show that, even after orthodontic treatment, persist important esthetic anomalies of the facial profile in most patients which would require complementary treatments to get a better facial equilibrium. Twenty three cephalometric soft tissues tracings and photographs of patients previously treated with orthodontics were studied. The results showed high prevalence of nasal and chin deformities which would require complementary operations to get a good facial esthetic balance. In the article the perception of facial esthetics among different people is also discussed.
