ABSTRACT

Meniscus allotransplantation represents the biological solution for the symptomatic, meniscus-deficient patient who has developed advanced osteo-arthritis. A growing body of evidence suggests that pain relief and functional improvement may reliably be achieved at short- and medium-term follow-up, and even, in some cases, at long-term (› 10 years) follow-up. However, to get good results you need a good selection of patients, rigorous rehabilitation process and good surgical technique of the procedure.
