ABSTRACT

A study of technological innovation was carried on where the general objective is: Designing an information-technology application for the registration, control and monitoring the medication dispense of family doctor´s office. The log of patients who were medically dispensed requires automated systems that speed the information up, become more precise and organize the complex relationships between the needs of health managers and the information to provide to, this encourages a quality service. In order to fulfil this objective were determined the users´ needs and the tasks to be performed by the system, the design of the relational database was compiled and a schedule of establishment was made in the family doctor´s office no. 3 of Aguada polyclinic.
The automated system was designed by Microsoft Access Version 2003. That´s why was used the documentary review about the research subjects by the analysissynthesis and induction-deduction for searching information. The results were: allowed to identify opportunities to develop the computer application, the planning of individual and collective activities, the assessment of knowledge of information processing and proposing to undertake the training, getting the indicators´ daily analysis, using the characterization of the population for analysing the health situation as well as allowing to store and sharing information in a centralized and timely way and a positive influence on the teaching and research process. The results confirm that the database should be led to a supported application in a free software.
