ABSTRACT

Objective: the dysfunction of pelvic floor includes a group of diseases manifested clinically as incontinence urinary, faecal incontinence, chronic pelvic pain, and genital prolapse in the woman, among other, with remarkable repercussion in the quality of personal, family, social and labour life. The objectives was elaborate, introduce and generalize a program of evaluation, diagnosis and integral rehabilitation of de pelvis floor diseases in our conditions began in de medical and surgical investigation center a new scientific program.
Methods: in 2007 began sustained by a routine of scientific development. It leaves of one but general of integral rehabilitation of the Center of Investigations Surgical, about its integral handling, introducing documentation for the valuation, diagnosis, treatment and evolutionary pursuit, being created an area of specialized treatment that includes: electromagnetic therapy, electrotherapy of low or half frequency with analgesic programs or muscular stimulate and surface electrodes or intracavitarios (vaginal or rectal), as well as education program Neuromuscular of the perineal region sanitary education with modification of habits and inadequate customs and psychological support to the patient and the family that guaranteed an integral rehabilitation. They were developed a group of investigations on the problem and their treatment, including epidemic aspects in Cuba.
Results: it was demonstrated that the dysfunction of the pelvic floor and in particular the incontinence urinary, is a problem of international health, corroborated in Cuba by our studies. They were necessary factors of risk for these sufferings as the obstetric history, the constipation and the chronic cough.
Conclusions: the results obtained until the moment, evidence the high effectiveness in satisfactory answers, cured patients and the notable impact in the quality of the patients' beneficiaries life with our program.
