Facial porokeratosis. A case report treated with topical tacrolimus

ABSTRACT

Porokeratosis is a disorder of keratinitation characterized by hyperkeratotic plaques and histologically by the presence of a compact column of parakeratotic cells named cornoid lamella. Cases can be familial, being inherited as an autosomal dominant trait with low penetrance. It has a wide variety of clinical forms. We report a 21 year-old female, with a 3 years history of an atypical facial porokeratosis, with typical histopathology and an excellent response with topical tacrolimus.
