ABSTRACT

A descriptive and cross-sectional study of 25 patients with renal transplantation and oral Kaposi's sarcoma, assisted in the stomatological department of the Specialties Polyclinic in "Saturnino Lora Torres" Teaching Clinical Surgical Hospital in Santiago de Cuba, was carried out from March, 2008 to the same month of 2013, to describe the clinical and histopathological results. Among the main findings the male sex, the age group 40-49 years, and the affected patients of black skin prevailed. On the other hand, as tissue changes there were the atypical vascular spaces, the eosinophilic bodies and the hematies extravasation; also, most of the lesions corresponded to the hard palate and gums. The biopsy turned out to be a valuable diagnostic mean to confirm this disease.
