ABSTRACT

The case report of a 47 year woman, of rural origin, admitted in "Emilio Bárcenas Pier" Hospital in II Frente municipality, Santiago de Cuba province, who presented for several years, acidity, epigastralgia with abdominal distension and dyspeptic dysfunctions is described. Then she was transferred to "Dr. Juan Bruno Zayas Alfonso" Teaching General Hospital for the study of the great abdominal tumor she presented, reason why a partial gastrectomy and primary resection of it was carried out. The patient had a favorable clinical course, without evidences of tumor recurrences and at present she is under treatment with Imatinib®, but she is still followed up in "Hermanos Ameijeiras" hospital.
